Free Custom Whitening

New Patient Special

We offer free custom whitening for all new patients who visit our office for a cleaning and checkup.  It’s important to schedule appointments twice a year to maintain good oral health.  As a service to our new patients, we will custom fit you for take-home whitening trays.

Free Custom Whitening

Whitening can be very safe and effective for a brighter smile.  It’s the most proven way to a whiter smile.  Our free custom whitening includes trays and bleaching gel.  We take impressions of your teeth to make custom fit trays.  The trays will hold against your teeth better, because they’re made to your mouth.  That’s better because the bleaching solution will adhere to your teeth better than if you were to use over the counter strips or trays.

Brighter Smiles

We provide a bleaching product that contains carbamide peroxide.  It is the most tested bleaching product on the market.  Patients should use a small amount of bleach (about the size of a grain of rice) per each tooth in the tray.  Be careful not to put too much into the tray because it can make your gums tender, and you don’t want to waste the product.  A little goes a long way with our custom system.  I created a short video that shows you how to fill the trays, click here to view it.  The solution comes in small syringes.  We give you several, and each syringe should last 4-5 nights.  The main side effect from bleaching is sensitivity.  It can make your teeth more sensitive to cold while you’re undergoing the treatment.

When to Wear Your Trays

We recommend you wear the trays at night, sleeping in them for one to two weeks.  Once you reach the desired shade of white on your teeth, you can stop using the product.  The treatment should last close to two years,  depending on how much tea and coffee you drink.  After that it’s about maintenance.  If you feel your teeth have lost some of the brightness or staining has returned, you can use the bleaching solution again for several nights.  You will keep these trays and use them again for touch ups and future treatments.

Final Thoughts

Not everyone will be a candidate for bleach trays.  Depending on the makeup of your teeth and the previous dental work you’ve had done, the whitening trays may not be an option for you.  We can discuss that during your visit.  To schedule an appointment, call our office at 864-520-2942 or book online.

Regular Cleanings and Checkups Can Save You $

Cleanings and Checkups

Let me tell you how important it is to visit your dentist at least twice a year for cleanings and checkups.

You can catch problems earlier or prevent them from happening at all, with regular visits.  Once cavities reach a certain stage, they’ll only continue to grow, and you can end up with a root canal or having to pull a tooth.

The hard buildup around your teeth by the gum line won’t go away on its own.  Brushing and flossing won’t remove it, but your family dentist can knock it out with special instruments.

Checkup, cleaning

That buildup is called tartar, and it can lead to decay and gum disease.  Take a look at the before and after pictures from a recent cleaning in Dr. Bullard’s office:

According to the American Dental Association, almost half of adults over 30 have some form of gum disease.  You simply do not want to miss checkups.  Your problem areas won’t go away, and they will cost you more money down the road.  Imagine the bill for a routine cleaning and checkup compared to a root canal and crown.

Even if you don’t have any symptoms, you can still have dental health problems.  Small cavities and gum disease often go unnoticed if you’re not feeling any pain.

Use Your Dental Benefits

If you have dental benefits, you are already paying to see your dentist twice a year, so you may as well schedule an appointment, and show up!

Dental cleanings and checkups are part of your overall health and wellness.  Studies show there is a link between a healthy mouth and a healthy heart.  Dental checkups fit right in with exercise and eating well to keep your body in top shape.

Fresher Breath and Whiter Teeth

You can have whiter teeth and fresher breath.  At your dental cleanings, your hygienist or dentist will remove stains from your teeth that are impossible to brush away at home.  A professional cleaning will also remove bacteria that cause bad breath.  Your smile is often the first thing others notice about you.  Don’t you just love how your teeth feel after a cleaning?  Doesn’t it make the day seem brighter?
